Tomoachan Player with an issue

I've got a Tomoachan player with an issue. I've put it up on the bioware forum. It sounds like a corrupt mod file in the RAR file I've uploaded but I can replicate the problem. Take a look at the bioware forum and let me know if you have any input.

  1. sounds bizarre
my first thought when you mention the problem with AVI was that maybe the .mod extension is associated with some other video editor - but then he's fine with other mods... :(

  2. It is odd, my AVI issue prompted a windows file protection issue, but upgrading Pinnacle Stuido from 9.x to 11.x fixed the issue. I've got no clue what's going on with this guy. Hopefully I can find a fix for him. I'd be happy if I heard from a Windows Vista person who is not having the problem. That alone would be valuable info.

    I appreciate the post.

  3. I may be very wrong out here but if Windows has .mod associated with MediaPlayer (it is at both my PCs don't know why) it causes Explorer to examine the file (before moving it). If Explorer decides the mod (believed audio/video file) is broken it'll read it to the end of the file regardless the size causing Windows to throw a "permission denied" and refuse to move the file. In a small mod this may take shorter time, who knows...

Otherwise it's just mysterious and strange. Can he delete the file?

  4. That's VERY similar to what I was hitting with AVI files. I'll ask him. He says he's had no trouble with smaller files.
