On the edge of a churning sea, a craggy hill rises like a wound in the earth, crowned by an ancient tower. A colossal 70-foot gash—half as wide—splits the hillside like a ruptured scar, beckoning intruders into shadow. Unnatural black birds circle the summit, their cries swallowed by the wind. Beneath this haunted peak lies the lair of a paranoid beholder—a twisted genius consumed by delusion and design. What horrors has it prepared for those bold enough to enter? Taking inspiration from the legendary Tomb of Horrors, this self-contained adventure can be dropped into nearly any campaign setting or run as a high-stakes one-shot. The adventure uses creatures from the *Monster Manual*, which is required for play. This beholder's lair can be dropped into any ongoing adventure with ease. The ...
I'm in the same boat, friend. Work has been pounding my spirit into the dirt lately, and dialog/writing isn't exactly sailing along.
ReplyDeleteI thought summer was supposed to be fun! ><
I tested the little bit of dialog I had written last night and it worked better than I had hoped. It's still going to be a crazy, hectic and slow summer.

ReplyDeleteOh man, I feel your pain on the dialogue thing. That is exactly where I am at, and it is a painful process.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and it seems like no matter what you write it gets knocked for 'having a few typos'. It's also very hard to have the options in that people will like. The advantage of PnP games is you can say and react to anything. I suppose you get that in a DM led session too.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading a interview with the famous elektronik group Kraftwerk long ago. It was about how they work with their music and why the time between the album releases was so long. Since then I always worked with it in my mind, professional, in my band, with the module and everything else. The meaning of it was (very freely):
ReplyDelete- Ralf, everybody loves our music, we must hurry up!
- Don't bother about that, we have work to do. We focus on that.
- Ralf, they say that our music is out of date and that we don't exist anymore!
- Don't bother about that, we have work to do. We focus on that.
- Ralf, is so nice that we are done with this album after all these years. No we can relax and sit back a while.
- Don't bother , we have work to do with our next album. We focus on that.
I know what you mean about work messing with life. It have been some hell weeks and my summer vacation is at risk.
Keep up the spirit, it will be a great module when released and the audience will have patience.
Thanks. I'm planning on a bit of work today but I am slowing down a bit from my earlier pace. I appreciate the story and encouragement.
