Large Fire

When I place the large fire visual effect in the Toolset or when I open an area in which I've used this effect I hear a large fire audio effect at deafening, speaker blowing volume. Anyone else run into this? Any way around it? It's more of a nuisance than a problem but I'd love to avoid it.

  1. It easy to fix.
Open up Placeable VFX (*.SEF) in the visual effects editor. The filename is the same as the VFX. Then look after the sound clip in the left column and either remove the sound completely, as I have done, and use a placeable sound object instead or replace it with a "softer" fire sound. Save the file in you override folder and don't forget to include it into you hak pack later on. It will not make your module much larger because it's just a simple XML-file.

Throw me a line on the mail if my explanation is too confusing.

  2. VFX editor is great but play with it at your peril as you can fiddle with things for hours..!

  3. I'll give that a shot. Even if I just keep it in my override for toolset purposes that would be fine. I'm a noob with the VFX editor and don't need to develop and addiction to anything else (the toolset it plenty) but I'll give it a try.

    Thanks for the advice.
