Mask of the Betrayer

I picked up Mask of the Betrayer tonight and started on the campaign. I'm just an hour or so into it but it's decent so far. I'm using my character from the OC, a Wizard 11, Fighter 1, Eldrich Knight8.

I'm not too far into the story, it's got a decent hook to get you going. For me story is king when I play. I've already pissed off my one companion. Oops... :-)

  1. Spoilers ahead * * * *

I think I may be stuck just inside Act II. The witches will not talk to me after defeating the spirit bear. I have not idea where the sword is, that I need for the shadow temple. I can't talk to the actress (I think) unless I talk to the witches first, who won't talk to me.

    END SPOILERS * * * *

  2. There's a LOT of things you encounter earlier i nthe game that you have to leave until they become available later - the Death Gods Vault in particular. THis threw me sometimes.

Did the cutscene fire after Okku - only reason I can think of off the top of my head the witches wouldn't respond is if that didn't go correctly...

  3. I replayed the battle and everything works properly now. The witches talked to me, more importantly the Spirit eater curse showed up. It never fired during my first time through.

  4. I haven't started playing MotB yet, but I've started replaying the OC with an air genasi (yeah, basically just cuz of the way he looks). At this rate I can expect to start the expansion some time in 2009.

80% of the time I play some sort of Eldritch Knight character myself! I like being part of melee and magical action.

  5. There is nothing like dropping a fireball then wading in with a two hand-sword. That's the good life.
