Keep on the Borderlands breaks 10,000

Keep on the Borderlands broke 10,000 downloads within the past 24 hours. I am very pleased, but I'm also surprised. I think it's solid, and fun but not a great mod. I think Tomoachan is a much better module, but downloads are coming MUCH slower. Either way it's all good.

  2. Thanks, much appreciated. Your stuff seems to be rocking and rolling. I think it's very ironic that Keep on the Borderlands has such a high count, I really don't think it's my best, maybe people like the nostalgia factor.

  4. Yeah- I think your numbers for B2 are being skewed by players' previous history. Also, your B2 is a really nice, balanced hack-n-slash that I use frequently for trying out low-level builds and bumping them up to mid-level ranges. C1 is more about enjoying the story.

    And Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. It is interesting seeing how quickly some mods are downloaded. Still trudgingly slowly towards 5000 with Dark Avenegr myself... maybe by christmas!

Congrats - KotB deserves it for coming in early in the NWN2 modding scene with a bug free balanced dungeon romp.

  7. Good to hear from you Wyrin. There was a lot less out there when the mod was released. I'm sure that's had an impact on the download count.

  8. Congrats are definately in order for 10,000!!! You're obviously doin' it right. .. I think B2 was the first thing I downloaded for NWN1.. It was the first published pnp mod I played.. I think I commented and voted.. boy that was a long time ago.. that was you?! Thanks!! .. I too have been a DM forever.. so I can't play tooo long without wanting to build stuff..

I was wondering (*looks down at feet*).. if you ever had time to look over prefabs that others have done.. (*shuffles weight from foot to foot*)

I put up a city prefab for NWN1 and it's getting downloads.. but no feedback..

I noticed from your blog that you have some pretty big areas.. I kept things as 8x8s.. and I released it without any background info (I have 2 kids... 2-year-old, 5-year-old.. you know the drill)

Anyway.. if you have any tips on how to get people to comment (short of putting up total crap.. that's a sure way).. well.. I'd appreciate it.

    Enjoy!

  9. Hey,
That whole link did not come through, but I'd be happy to take a look at it.

Shoot me an email with the link or split the link on two lines.

Glad you thought well of Keep on the Borderlands. It's an oldie but a goodie I suppose. I think I owe a lot to the nostalgia factor.

  10. I'd happily send you an e-mail.. alas.. your response came via a "no-reply" link..

That said.. I just cut and pasted the link from the above comment and it worked.. Here it is again.. all cut up.

If all that fails.. well.. it's called "The City of Torencia"... if you walk in the city.. and find the Hermitage Square.. look for the Inn.. It has a back door on the balcony..

    Enjoy!!
