Questions: Any one know what I am building?

I've told two people, my son and one community member what I am building right now. I'm considering revealing it publicly. It's no great secret I suppose, but it's been fun to work away quietly on my own. Any guesses on what I am working on? I've posted a few screen shots, but I have deliberately tried to keep things vague. Let me know!

A milestone, problems solved.

Ok, I have reached that milestone. All of the areas that are minimally required have been built. Many are only partly decorated, none have scripting or bad guys put in yet. Plot related dialog is nearly done, and most area transitions are in place. I am going to finish the area transitions, and perhaps at the journal entries then get the module to a point where I can walk it and interact with key NPCs and work through key events to move through the module from beginning to end...then there is lots to add and lots to polish and lots to test. I did hit a major snag, beyond the one mentioned earlier. There is an issue with build 1.0.6 of NWN2. Water can disappear if someone is using the undo/redo command in the toolset, forcing you to repaint it. If you turn off directional lighting it completely disappears and can't be repainted (or at least it doesn't show up when you paint it). I learned the latter bit of info tonight. You can read about it here .

Tempted to write again

I am tempted to write again. I thought of resurrecting my efforts to port C1 Hidden Shrine of Tomoachan over from NWN1 to NWN2. I had an expanded plot outline. The original C1 was the dungeon and nothing else. I figured I'd add a back story and wrap up after the dungeon. I really got burned out after Keep on the Borderlands which was frustrating because the module could have been so much more. However with Keep so warmly received and having been given a very kind review I was tempted. It's raining where I live and I'm inside and my three young sons are either absent or quiet so again it's tempting. I opened the editors, and I started pursuing various scripts. I popped in a movie soundtrack (great mood music) and settled in. Then I called my friend Bruce (aka Darmok) and asked him to remind me why I am not writing another module. He had to tell me six times (I made him repeat it), but I closed the editor and came to my senses. Perhaps next Fall/Winter. Maybe w...

2006 Module of the Year

NWVault has listed the entries for the 2006 module of the year . Hidden Shrine of Tomoachan , Hythum and Hythum II were up for 2004 mod of the year or 2005 mod of the year, but they didn't do particularly well. Although each mod made the Hall of Fame and were very well received they didn't do too well in the running for mod of the year. They got some votes, but were somewhere in the middle of the pack. This year Eye of the Serpent is up for Mod of the Year 2006 . I have no problem with how things went in previous years, and I don't expect Eye of the Serpent to win this year. I am pleased with my modules, but I think there are better far more deserving mods that should win. ... but as they say. I am thrilled just to be including in the list of eligible mods. * Edited * You know I looked at the list and noticed Hythum II is on the list of nominees. Something is wrong with their list. I know Hythum II was up for 2005 mod of the year, and I think Eye may have been...
